Why is my withdrawal taking longer than usual?
Introduction
Withdrawals may sometimes take longer than expected due to a variety of system, network, or security‑related factors. This article outlines the most common reasons for delays and what you can do while waiting.
Common reasons for withdrawal delays
Network congestion
Some blockchains experience heavy traffic, causing slower confirmation times. Even if Coinlocally processes your request quickly, the blockchain itself may take longer to confirm the transaction.
Security checks
For your protection, certain withdrawals may be flagged for additional verification. This can happen if:
- The withdrawal amount is unusually large
- The account shows unusual activity
- Recent security changes were made (password reset, new device, etc.)
Wallet or network maintenance
If the asset’s wallet or blockchain is under maintenance, withdrawals may be temporarily paused until the system becomes fully operational again.
Incorrect or incompatible network selection
Choosing the wrong network can cause delays or failures. The system may hold the transaction until it can determine the correct handling method.
High system load
During peak activity periods, processing times may increase slightly as the system handles a larger number of requests.
What you can do
- Check whether a TxID has been generated
- Verify the blockchain status using the TxID once available
- Confirm that the asset’s wallet is not under maintenance
- Review your recent account activity for any security‑related flags
- Wait a bit longer if the blockchain is congested
Important notes
- Once a TxID is generated, the transaction has already been broadcast to the blockchain
- Coinlocally cannot speed up blockchain confirmations
- Delays do not necessarily mean the transaction has failed
